Hilton MSP at 3800 American Blvd. E
in Bloomington, Minnesota
Tuesday thru Thursday
April 13-15, 2021
Brothers, please read through this guide to our Spring Conference. Register below at your earliest convenience.
Our conference host this year will be the Red Wing Conference of the Minnesota District. We thank them for managing onsite registration, worship, fellowship, and other responsibilities.
This year’s Spring Conference will meet at the Hilton MSP located at 3800 American Blvd E, Bloomington, Minnesota. This hotel is located just south of 494 across from the Delta hanger and next door to the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Center. This area includes miles of biking and walking trails.
Our conference focus is continuing education with courses provided by Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (WLS). You may take courses for credit or simply audit the courses at a discounted cost. Those taking courses for credit will be granted priority seating for classes.
The cost to take courses for credit is $125 for 1.0 credit and $187.50 for 1.5 credit. The cost for auditing courses is $62.50 for the 1.0 credit class and $93.75 for the 1.5 credit classes.
The fee for a hotel room is $184 for the two nights ($92/night including tax). You may reserve a King bed all to yourself. Or you may get a two-bed room and split the cost with a roommate of your choice. Please put your roommate’s name in the registration form.
The cost for meals, coffee and water during the conference, and fellowship time is $200 including tax and service charges.
Retirees who are members of the Minnesota District are invited to attend as our guests free of charge. In addition, WLS charges no fee for retired pastors who audit courses. We do ask that you please register at WELSMN.org in a timely way and select the “Retired Pastor” options.
Conference worship with the Lord’s Supper will take place after the Tuesday evening meal at Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran Church, 9350 Portland Ave S in Bloomington.
At the hotel we will follow the guidance shared by the Minnesota Department of Health. Currently that means being masked, socially distanced, and with at least 50 square ft. per person in a room. Our four main classrooms are 1860 square feet with 18’ ceilings, and the air is fully exchanged with fresh air several times per hour. Meals will be served in two rooms at socially distanced tables and will be served by the staff. If at any time before or during the conference you happen to feel “not right”, please defer from attendance out of an abundance of concern for your brothers and the hotel staff.
We have two large Presidential Suites available for evening fellowship. Please visit there at your own discretion and in a way with which you are comfortable. There is a balcony with a sliding door in both suites to provide fresh air. Refreshments and limited snacks will be available there both evenings. Feel free to “grab & go” if you care to.
Our breakfast will not be served at the hotel as part of a cost control measure. This saves about $40-50 on the cost of the conference per person. We will have muffins, instant oatmeal, energy bars, milk or other items available in the two Presidential Suites that we have reserved for the conference. Items can be gathered there in the evening during fellowship time and kept in your room for the morning. The other option is for you to eat at Denny’s or a similar restaurant on you own in the area.
